My name is Bion Shoemaker, and I am the Program Director at Lotus Recovery. I grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and graduated in 1995 from Francis Marion University with a master’s degree in education. I spent 22 years as a teacher and basketball coach for the South Carolina public school system.
After recovering from addiction, I decided to change careers to work with people struggling with addiction. My passion and joy come from helping others recover as I was helped. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, including my wife, four children, and two cats.
